Junior Men Undefeated at ‘half time’ in the League

The Gaels Junior Men — defending League Champions — got their defence of their League title under way with 3 wins and a draw, under the watchful eye of their new manager Donnie Jackman and assistant Declan Murtagh.

Gaels v Harps

The Gaels opened their League campaign with a vital win in the Glasgow Derby against Harps, the Gaels lined out with a number of new faces and eventually ran out impressive winners. The Gaels then made the trip up to Dundee to play Dalriada in a repeat fixture of last year’s County Final.  Both teams served up a very entertaining game with the lead changing hands a number of times.  A late goal from Dalriada’s full forward Niall Horkan, in the dying seconds of the game kept the game to a draw.  The Gaels then welcomed Sands MacSwineys at home in Peterson Park. In the end the experienced Gaels team ran out comfortable winners against a young Sands team. Its great to see Sands up and running after a tough year last year. The Gaels then met the Coatbridge side at home. Despite some fantastic goalkeeping from Sands the Gaels were again comfortable winners. They are top of the League going into the break–with their next game away versus Connollys on the 23rd of June.
